A Life Vested in Ward 4

I’m Stephen Orser. A 25-year homeowner in Ward 4, a proud father, and a dedicated advocate for the working class.

I was a humble junk man for 20 years. I did the jobs no one wanted and never complained. I've invested my whole life into this community. I have no criminal record, and I served on the city council for 8 years, fighting for the people who need it most.

I even survived death for 3.5 minutes. I was given a second chance, and I made a promise to use it to help those who are homeless.

Honours

Awarded the Medal of Meritorious Conduct by the Governor General of Canada for saving a life.

Real Solutions

Homeowners Homeless Program (HHP)

We shouldn't be paying $111,000 a year to fail the homeless. I built a garage, a pilot project to show how we can safely and respectfully house low-risk homeless individuals for just $25,000 a year.

By implementing 150 HHP units across the city, we help the vulnerable while saving taxpayers millions. Everyone is welcome to see what I built at my home, as long as they are respectful and the sun is shining.

Backyard Free Eggs

Inflation is crushing working families. When my dog died, I was given laying hens, and we suddenly had free eggs all the time. Today, a carton of eggs costs $10.

Two chickens can lay 18 eggs a week, saving a family $80 a month. It's time to let citizens use their own land to grow food, keep chickens, and fight back against the cost of living.

A Neighbour Who Listens

Stephen isn't a politician hiding behind closed doors. He's out in the community, walking the streets of Ward 4, and talking to his neighbours every single day.

Whether it's discussing local issues over a fence or finding practical solutions to city problems, Stephen is always approachable and ready to lend a hand.

A Legacy of Resilience

"My father fought in World War II and was captured, but he didn't give up. He escaped a German POW camp and made his way back home. We were incredibly close, and the resilience, grit, and dedication to freedom he showed are the exact same values that guide me today. He taught me that you never stop fighting for what's right."
